Last year, a renewable energy company called SynGest was exploring economic development opportunities in three Indiana communities. Meanwhile, projects are moving forward in other states. But for the time being, there’s no progress in Indiana, and SynGest’s CEO says the state’s senators are partly to blame. But there’s no easy answer to how—or whether—the federal government should intervene to make the market friendlier for green investment.

Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel delivered his sixth State of the City address to the Evansville Rotary Club today. The mayor outlined his take on the city's economic resilience...even as some local companies, like Whirlpool, shut their doors.
